NBR Extensions On the Go: Easy, Effortless Hair for an Active Life

One of the most common questions I hear during consultations is, "Can I still live my life with extensions?" Swim laps, hit a spin class, chase kids around the park, take that weekend trip to the coast? The answer is a big, happy yes.
NBR extensions are made for real life. Here's how NBR keeps up with you, wherever your day takes you.
Why NBR Extensions Are Made for Movement
Natural Beaded Rows (NBR) are invisible bead extensions applied with no glue, no tape, no heat, and no harsh chemicals. I build a beaded track using lightweight aluminum beads and wig-grade thread, shaped to your unique head shape, and sew wefts onto the thread between each bead.
Because there's no adhesive involved, there's nothing for sweat, water, or body heat to break down. And because I use Genius wefts, which lie flatter than traditional hand-tied extensions, your rows stay comfortable and discreet whether your hair is down, up, or soaking wet.

Jet skis, river trails, and mountain views- your hair keeps up with all of it.
NBR hair extensions go wherever you go, and they’re as easy to care for as your natural hair. Twist them into a top knot, sweep them into a low pony, or braid them up for the trail.
Swimming? Throw It Up in a Top Knot
Pool day, lake day, or a dip in Puget Sound, your extensions can come along. When you're swimming but not getting your hair wet, my go-to is a simple top knot. Gather your hair high on your head, twist, and secure it with a soft hair tie or claw clip. It keeps your lengths up and out of the water, keeps your hair off your face, and looks effortlessly chic poolside. Planning to go all the way under? Reach for the braided low pony in the tips below.
Quick Swim Tips
Wet your hair with clean water and add a leave-in conditioner so your hair absorbs less chlorine or salt.
Pull your hair back into a low ponytail and braid it tightly to keep your lengths protected and tangle-free while you swim.
Rinse with fresh water as soon as you're out, then wash with a Davines detox shampoo and condition with a Davines mask.
Use your Davines OI Oil to detangle, working gently from the ends up.
Working Out? A Low Pony Is Your Best Friend
Whether you're lifting, running, or flowing through yoga, a low ponytail is one of the easiest and most comfortable ways to wear NBR extensions during a workout. Because your rows are customized to your head shape and the wefts lie flat, a low pony sits naturally at the nape of your neck without tugging or pulling.
It also keeps your hair secure and out of your way, so you can focus on your workout instead of your hair. When you're done, take it down, give it a gentle brush, and you're ready for the rest of your day.
Workout Hair Tips
Use a soft, snag-free hair tie and avoid wrapping it too tightly.
Brush gently around your rows before and after your workout to prevent tangles.
Let your hair breathe and dry after a sweaty session instead of keeping it tied up all day.
Sweaty and Short on Time? Try a Top Wash
Here's my favorite little secret for busy days. If you get sweaty and don't have time for a full wash and dry, you can do a top wash. A top wash means washing only your natural hair above your rows, focusing on your scalp and roots, while keeping your extensions out of the water.
Clip your extension hair up and out of the way, lean over the sink or tub, and shampoo and condition just the top section. Then dry that section, style, and go. You get a fresh, clean scalp in a fraction of the time, and you can save your full wash day for later in the week.
More Ways NBR Makes Life Easier

Travel Ready
No special tools, no glue removers, and no fussy routines to pack for. A brush, your Davines products, and a few hair ties are all you need for a weekend away.
Kid-Friendly (and Chaos-Friendly)
Soccer games, playground runs, and car-pool lines don't stand a chance. A quick ponytail or claw clip keeps your hair looking polished, even on the most hectic days.
Simple Upkeep
Every 6 to 8 weeks, you'll come back for a move-up. I reposition your rows, refresh your color, and restyle, so your extensions keep looking and feeling their best no matter how active you are.
